[nagdu] Guide Dogs in Condo swimming pools.

Well, several things interest me here. First, if a person belongs to a
condo, can they help make the decissions? Next, if you are on a beach is the
life guard responsible for any harm that your dog causes or is caused to
them? Third, can you actually take a dog in a public pool and does the
chlorine bother the dog? Fourth, how much hair would clog up the filtration
system? And Finally, why does one need to take the dog in the water with
them in the first place? Except for play, I can't see what job the dog is
doing in there for you. I have never seen any dogs in public pools and I
would be sure to ask those I know who have private pools or ponds. I had a
friend who took his dog to a public beach and let him swim. The dog was
awkward in the water and inadvertainly scratched a few of us trying to
maintain his balance. We didn't complain but I'm sure some would! When I go
to our public pool, I iether leave Holly here or have my wife go and hold
the leash. They let her on the deck but not in the pool. I figure, wherever
pets can play in the water so can Holly. If in doubt, she don't go in! The
idea is that these dogs are performing a service and that service ends at
the pool side. In the water they are just like us goofing off in the water!
If folks don't want our dogs goofing off in there, I think they can say so.
However, they can't tell us that we can't use our dogs to get to the pool
area! I'm guessing that if you are part of a condo, folks would have to vote
to let your dog play there but they couldn't stop you from bringing it down
to the pool side and tieing it down.
