[nagdu] Dogs at work

It doesn't matter if the boss likes that the public can see the dog or not. That's not a legitimate reason to keep the dog somewhere else. and on another floor? I've had my guides in a variety of work environments, not your type of environment though. But as others have suggested, a crate or tie-down should be sufficient to keep the dog under control but near you. As a rule, most don't bark, and you could mention that in your home interviews with any guide dog schools, that you absolutely must have a quiet dog.

I work in a fitness club laundry, I found a nice place for the dog, but it would be in a place that the public could see him, and I don't no if the boss would like that, Plus if the dog gets worked up when he sees a bunch of people and starts barking, that could be bad.

Unless there is a legitimate safety concern in the type of work you do, your boss's response is illegal discrimination. Service dogs can accompany their handlers in nearly every situation and need not be confined on a different floor.
