[nagdu] new dog, new surroundings, boredom

Short and cautious at first does seem to be the best approach. I'm going
through the learning to deal with snow and all, too. My dog is disgusted
with me by how short our sessions are when it's icy and cold, but she's
getting the picture that there are some new things for us to worry
about. /smile/

For me, the real tricky part is getting myself out, since I'm not used
to the cold these days and really would rather be on a sunny beach
somewhere. I get freaked by the wind, too, since it mucks up my
orientation and ability to detect and locate motor vehicles. Which are
going about on ice, so unreliable about stopping and not sliding out of
where they belong. /lol/ Since Mitzi hasn't yet seen (that I know of) a
vehicle in a skid in an intersection, I worry a bit about trusting her
as fully as I do given her normal brilliant traffic sense. Hm...

It would be harder with a new dog in a way, at first, or so it seems, at
least in terms of my nerves. But quite a few do the snow thing regularly
with dog or cane or whatever and live to tell the tale, so...

Keep up the good work, Daniel, and let us know how it goes. /smile/
