Dear Meghan,

	How do you teach a dog to back into a cab or car?  Your way makes so
much sense; I'd love it if you would describe how to teach the backing in
part.

I put one leg in, turn the dog so her back end is facing towards the cab,
have her back into the cab and then bring my other leg in. To get out, I
open the door, bring out one leg, have her hop out, swing out the other leg.
This takes some practice, but all of my dogs, including my 75 lb male GSD
have figured this out and done it well. This way, tail goes in first and has
no chance of getting closed in the door, and the dog is facing the right way
when it is time to get out and has no reason to put her paws on the seat at
any point.
