[nagdu] Puppy Personalities

It's one of the great lessons I've learned from having dogs--every
creature is unique, and everyone has some special talents and qualities.
I've had 6 guide dogs, and they've all been different.
My current dog, Ben, is a black lab. He's pretty unusual. I like to say
he's a secret TSE experiment, crossing a lab and a cat. Or perhaps he's a
shepherd inside.
He's very quiet. There are usually only one or two times in a day when he
will come to be petted. The rest of the time, he ignores being patted.
He likes to meet new people, but after about 30 seconds they're old news
and not so interesting. He's extremely smart, and has a cocky
self-confidence I adore. He loves the challenge of the Big City, and is
amazing at working through crowds, noise, traffic, and construction. In
quieter places, he gets a bit bored and starts to multi-task. "This is so
easy, I can guide you and sniff these bushes."

He also doesn't like to get his feet wet, but he is interested in lakes
and creeks.
My last 3 labs didn't like getting their feet wet, but Amba was crazy
about lakes and rivers. She totally wanted to get in and splash around,
but not too deep. It was her big distraction, and kind of funny.
