Bibi,
Are you lining the cans with a large plasic bag - 30 gallon size - to put
the food into? It sounds like you may have larvae already in the food. Is
your can indoors or outdoors? How are these moths and their eggs and larvae
getting into your apartment? I hope you don't have to throw away the food
but you may have to to get rid of any eggs and larvae.
My dog food bin is really a 30-gallon size can just like the trash cans are
and it is kept in my living room as I have no real storage in my apartment.
