[nagdu] Another question about the Fair Housing Act.

If you aren't asked, I concur with Michael here; you need say nothing as I
didn't when I was looking for rentals in Kansas City.
My only issues with landlords here was wanting me in apartments with
older, dirty carpet which I informed them was discriminatory because the law
that allows me to be there with my guide also says if my dog damages
property, I must pay.

I am in the process of renting an apartment. I already told the rental
agent handling the application when Destiny is a guide dog and exempt for
pet fees as stated in the Fair Housing Act. Should I just show her the
appropriate section of the FHA that covers service animals before she has
talked to the landlord? or wait until we signed the lease?

the guide/service dog count as a pet in regards to the total allotted pets
per apartment? For instance, say you have your guide dog and two cats. But,
the apartment you are interested in only allows 2 pets. Does the guide dog
count as a pet? Or just the two cats? Is that mentioned somewhere in the
FHA?
