Hi Eve,

There's a product out there called Musher's Secret. You can use this product 
on your dog's pads in the winter months to protect there paws and pads from 
salt and ice and  you can use this product in the summer months to help 
protect the dog's paws and pads from the hot  pavement.

It does work because I use it on my guide Gipp.  Plus itdoesn't have any 
harmful chemicals in the product so if your dog licks his paws it won't hurt
