Hi, all,
Odie and I had some more adventures today.
Because our apartment was being bug bombed, we had to be gone for three hours.
We went down to the sixteenth street mall and faced many challenges, positive and negative ones.
The negative ones were the hardest as I'd have people put their foot in the wrong place if I needed to correct Odie.
We were in MacDonald's and an unknown homeless drunk guy decided to come sit at the same table we were sitting.
I felt a low growl come from Odie's throat and he was warning me the individual didn't look or smell right.
I ended up gathering my tray after a few minutes as he just wouldn't leave me alone.
Thankfully, I found another customer to sit with who had her stuff together and we began to talk.
I introduced myself and the other lady told me her name was Nancy.
She came up with a good name for Odie which I like.
It is Fydo.
After MacDonald's, Odie and I decided it was best to walk to the next places that were easily accessible on the mall to get to.
I wasn't wanting to put him through the stress on the free mall shuttle as it gets really packed and crowded.
My partner would have became cluster phobic and I would have felt the same way too.
Another rough part was people continuously kept looking at his dog shoes instead of watching where they were going.
I actually almost got knocked down by an individual.
Thankfully, my heroic partner caught me before I went down.
While at another crossing, some man decided he would put his hand in front of Odie's mouth.
My partner didn't like that one bit and he made it clear by back up away from him.
Of course, Odie could have cut the person's hand off, but I am glad he handled it better by just backing away.
I didn't want to have to deal with ten day quarrenteen nor extra paperwork.
He had the same type of reaction during training too, would back up if anyone started touching him without my permission.
While at Market street, Station, I tried to offer him some water in his dish.
I put it down for a few seconds and then showed him the water bowl.
He didn't want any as of yet.
Another individual decided he needed to get involved and not just by me, even another passenger told him to go away and be quiet, to keep his mouth shut.
Despite the rough negative parts of the adventures, the positive part was us getting much needed exercise.
It was a good day to do so and I'm happy we got out.
Odie did well for the most part, despite a few problems, but that's to be expected and he's not 100%perfect.
I wouldn't want it to be that way.
We stopped at 7 11 on the way home and I bought him his special reward treat: a banana which I broke it up into small pieces and mixed with his supper.
I'm getting ready to feed him and see if he likes it.
I still stick to the traditional parts of a working dog team though: rewarding him with love and praise since he enjoys that the most.
Odie's other favorite is when I pick him up, having both of his front legs placed on my left arm and me giving him a big hug and kiss on the side of his face.
I put my hand down briefly to feel his tail wag like crazy.
After supper, I'm planning an extra park time tonight in the hopes no acidents do happen.
If so though, life goes on and it gets cleanned up.
Hope all and their four-legged furry working partners enjoy their weekend and try to stay cool.
Bibi and son Odie
