Hi Laura, I was home trained, too. I have been working my Fidelco dog
Yalie for 7 years now. I love the home training. I hope you do, too.
Feel free to contact me on or off list. John is a wonderful trainer,
too. I think the most important advice I can offer is not to get hung
up on any one person's  advice because there are a lot of really
opinionated people and what is right for them is not always right for
you. As you grow in your relationship with your dog, you will try one
thing and later change your approach based on your experience. I'm
sure you will love your training. Best of luck
