[nagdu] discussion concerning my letter to the board of directors of Guide Dogs for the Blind

Dear Tina,
While the situations may be different at Seeing Eye and Guide Dogs
for the Blind, I think consumers--that is what we are no matter whether or
not we pay a stipend for our dogs--
are standing up to be counted.
And, while it is true TSE's board has resp0onded, unless you know
more than I do, we do not know if it is positive or not.
I still think it is sad that so much experience has been flushed
down the toilet; I am still concerned, too, about how effective follow-up
and consultation will be.
Darla

There was a letter sent the SE board of directors by the graduates and the
board responded to questions both in writing and via conference. Also, staff
was made aware that there would be cut backs as well as layoffs way ahead
of time and most importantly, graduates are continuing to receive follow up
services via telephone and in home visits. The situation with SE is
totally different from what's going on with GDB.

Mike,

We should have written as soon as we heard about the lay offs.
