Hi Daniel,

Sometimes you can tell  the driver where you want to sit and if you prefer the front then by all means I would say sit there. After all you are paying for the ride. 
With that in mind sometimes you get that driver who is not a dog person or is allergic. In this case what I do is sit in the back and ask the driver to move the passengers seat up so my dog can sit on the floor. A lot of times my drivers have not been able to move the seat up because there of this that and the other reason so, I just bring a towel and they have the understanding your dog has to sit on the seat because they can't adjust everything for you.  The towel just avoids conflicts about the dog leaving fur and dirt .  Sometimes I wish they were more accommodating but when it comes to getting from point A to B I pick my battles.
