Well, hup up doesn't always work in these circumstances. I always suggest one direction or the other, and usually I can get one of them. I also keep encouraging forward and put out my hand or foot to see if I can finally encounter what is there. Thing is, I get impatient with that when the dog is doing that. On the other hand, my dog will go ahead and go off in the grass; it annoys me because I don't know if he is doing that to sniff or relieve or if there is really a reason. Maybe I need to just go along for a bit until I get a real sense of why we went there. I seem a little impatient and will have to work on that.
