[nagdu] The Matching Process Isn't an Exact Science

Hi Everyone,

Please don't be off-put by the subject line; I know most of
you know this, but again, I think some schools, at some times, don't believe
the hander may know best with a given dog, and maybe there needs to be more
of a dialogue or meeting between the staff and each student right before the
final match is made, and if a severe problem occurs, a switch should occur
as soon as possible.

I have kept a couple of dogs I knew weren't really right for
me, but I could make it work but should not have had to do so, but I still
think some of the schools, because they are charities, still have a bit of a
patronizing attitude toward us.

In closing I don't think a sick dog should ever be sent
home; I was sent home with one, as was another lister; it was expensive,
both in vet care and because I needed to make an emergency trip back from
halfway across the country. Moreover, I believe the dog being ill so new
into our relationship, has kept the relationship from being all it could be.
