[nagdu] families and guide dogs

True, Larry! Training the dog is easy... Training the humans? Ha! So I
just trained the dog to ignore the humans, including her sweet daddy.
For some reason, that still makes him crazy sometimes. Not sure why. He
gets it, but every now and then... Of course, I have to remind myself to
ignore him and listen to the dog since she knows her job. I think it's
in times of stress that he gets overly watchful and falls into
micromanaging, so at least I can talk to him about it and get him to
remember to let the dog do her job. He's finally gotten used to how we
work around all the moving obstacles at the retirement center and at the
post acute care center where my dad was for awhile. That there gets
tricky because the folks aren't spry, and they also must mug the dog...
While we weave around them and all the other moving paraphernalia in
such places.

The rest of the family has figured out that the dog does go with and
even that she is doing a job. Who knew? But apparently at least one has
not figured out that feeding her under the table at a restaurant is not
okay. Naturally, I didn't know until someone mentioned it later. So I
guess next week, I will have to review the rules with everyone before we
go out. Or just be a nasty bully if it looks like they are not willing
to humor my silly whims... Maddening. /lol/
