[nagdu] families and guide dogs

You mean we can leash correct those family members who, presumably, have a
higher level of reasoning? <giggle>
I feel all your pain on this subject; I live 1,400 miles from my
family, but I have friends here--I should say one friend--who can be pretty
bad, at times.
She is going to get a rude awakening when I come home with new
doggie; I'll be out of the car, and on my way to wherever, while she is
still deciding where we're going; dogs don't walk and look like people, so,
I'd just as soon be ahead; otherwise I have seen too much co-dependence.
Anyone here know what I am talking about and have other solutions?
Darla & Precious Roxy

Mary,

My husband has his moments, although I've been known to snap him back pretty
hard when he interferes too much. He knows better, but sometimes he can't
seem to help himself from watching every move the dog makes...
And he forgets that I'm listening to the dog, not him. Overall he's pretty
good, so I guess I can't complain too much. I try to remember to remind him
of the ground rules every now and then, which does help. /smile/

The rest of my family... They totally don't get it. So we just try to manage
around them, frankly.

I've come to the conclusion that in these cases, the best one can do is
focus on managing the dog and filter out the rest... As best one can!
It's aggravating, though, isn't it?

Tami
