[nagdu] Cold weather

Hi,
Bring the boots regardless. Dog's feet are not as sensitive to
temperature as ours, but it's all the salt and brine that you need to
protect your dog's feet from. It's already started snowing pretty good
here, so there's salt and brine all over the place, which can cause an
acid-like burn on your dog's feet. And also, you don't want your boy
to lick any of that toxic stuff off of his paws either.
Whether you need a coat or not just depends on your dog. If you notice
him shivering, huddling, or his teeth chattering out in the cold, then
get him a winter jacket.
I have a golden, who rejoices at the frigid air, whipping wind, and
abundant snowfall of West Michigan winter. There was a 3-week period
in February where the temperature never rose above 18dgF, and the
golden guy never needed a jacket. But of course, goldens naturally
have longer fur than labs.
