[nagdu] guide dogs in urope, and sleeping in?

Hi Cecilia,

As I understand it,European laws are pretty similar to what they are
here. It does vary though depending on where you plan to go. Some
countries have a lot more guided dog users than others. I believe
France, for example, has a guide dog school, and I know there are a
good number of guide dogs in England. Perhaps you could contact those
schools. Where are you planning to go in Europe? I was this *really*
close to taking my first dog to Germany with me a number of years ago.
It turns out that private schools there can deny you access, and they
matched me with a host family who didn't want a dog. I chose not to
fight it at the time and left my dog with my mother. But this is not
me discouraging you from bringing your dog. My first dog would have
done well in Europe.

As for sleeping in, I would recommend setting an alarm for like 6 or
7, getting up, parking and/or feeding the dog, and jumping back in
bed. If you're tired enough, you'll go back to sleep, and this
process only takes about 10 minutes if you're quick. If the alarms
won't wake you, then be sure to take your dog out soon before you go
to bed. Like others said, he/she should be able to hold it for at
least 10 hours.
