Hi all,

When my guide needs to (park) relieve himself while out and about he will
let me know he needs to go by stopping and and pulling over to the grass. I
always remove my dog's harness before letting him do his business.
I always give my dog plenty of opportunities to go before we start out
walking. And I do have desanated areas on my routes that I will allow my
dog to go at if he needs to go.But there's been a time or two where my guide
will pee in harness without warming and I will correct my dog for going in
harness and then go ahead and remove the harness and give my dog the
opportunity to go. I don't want my dog relieving himself in harness because
then he will get the idea that it's okay to go while in harness when it's
not okay. So that is why I always remove my dog's harness. And I think it's
not a good idea to let a guide go and relieve him or herself in harness
because to me that can only confuse the dog. But that's just my opinion.
Take care.
