John, the first step is to have her on a schedule that is consistent. Also, keep her on leash or tie down until she is relieving on a regular basis. I would also keep her on leash or tie down for about 2 weeks anyway. Then gradually give her freedom this way you can fix any undesired house manners. I also live out in the country and have a hard time getting services. Can your parents help? Have one of them or a friend walk on your right and a few steps behind you to tell you what is going on and to give you directions. on a specific route. It is also helpful to go sighted guide and put her in a heeling position the first and maybe evthe second run through of a route and have her sit at all curbs and steps for which she is to stop at. also if your school did any clicker training that can also be VERY helpful in teaching your dog a simple route. You can walk in the country along a road with no sidewalks right? It's not the most ideal but it would give your dog work and exercise as well as improve her country work skills. This can also work while out and about with friends . I am deaf-blind and sometimes I cannot do this so my friends will tactilly indicate which direction dragging their finger on my shoulder of which direction this may also be helpful in noisy places too. I also do heel my dog some when I'm traveling with people but every opportnunity where I can hear I work her. Hope this helps if you have please feel free to email me offlist at danielleburton94 at gmail.com
