[nagdu] Going hiking?

Great tips from the group so far, and making noise will also be important.
Carrying a whistle is also suggested as this hike is not in your typical
bear country, but grizzly bear country. Generally speaking, most bears are
just afraid of you as you are of them, but it is a whole different story
when momma has cubs. Talking with the ranger will be very important as the
bears will be freshly out of hibernation and very hungry.

Subject: [nagdu] Going hiking?

hi!
I have always enjoyed nature, but have been hesitant to go hiking with a
cane. In a couple of months, my husband, my dog and I are going to be going
to Montana for a few days just to relax. There's a lot of trails around
where we're staying, so I would LOVE to be able to take Jenny and just go!
Any advice would be greatly appreciated; perhaps I just don't know what to
ask.

Daryl
