I myself am looking into these things as well because I am just over 2
months from going to TSE. I've not come to any solid conclusions yet
other than there is a lot of bad foods out there.
If anyone has any good sites with info about what dogs need,
especially labs, goldens and crosses, what proteins are best, how
much, how much fat, how much fiber, what ingredients are good/bad,
that'd be helpful, there are lots of sites liek dogfoodanalysis and
dogfoodadvisor that give lists of there ingredients, but I guess an
unbias opinion would be nice.
The best info I can find is at these 2 sites
http://www.naturalnews.com/report_pet_food_ingredients_0.html
and
http://www.wdcusick.com/
