Julie,
I am so happy that this got worked out. Good for you to bring it up. I think if it was the right time, then it was the right time. This just shows that talking and educating employers in the right way does work in our favor in the long run.

I am getting a raise, a promotion, a hand held magnifyer and Miss Jetta is no problem. I even mentioned that Jetta is a Doberman. My supervisor mentioned that she'd really like a Doberman, because it would make her feel safer. Her first reaction was concern for Monty. I just explained that he's getting older, but he's doing fine. I also explained about switching the two dogs back and forth to keep both active without stressing either too much. I really hadn't intended to bring it up, but it was a perfect moment. I don't think it would have been a problem to not bring it up, but this way feels polite to me.

I think it might have been too much for Monty to deal with. I'm glad I timed the new dog entry as well as I did...okay so it is completely coincidence, but I am relieved at how well it's going to turn out.
