[nagdu] A goose is hissing at my dog!

Hey,

Update. The people who own the building have agreed to let us cut through their offices to the back door, through the parking lot, and to Jenny's normal relieving spot. This is far enough away from the goose that it doesn't seem to bother either doggie or goose.

Wildlife control has come out to examine the goose and the nest. They can't remove them, because, as Craig said, they are protected species in Canada. The goslings will hatch in 25-30 days, so we are likely to have a hissing goose for that amount of time.

Thankfully we've found a solution. I will make sure that Jenny relieves before we get to work, and then we can cut through the building when that office is open between my two early-morning meetings.

I'm still a little edgy, but it's probably the best we can hope for at this point; just hoping the goose doesn't decide to expand his/her territory.

Daryl and Jenny (who was relieved - no pun intended - to have a goose-hissing-free pee after three attempts in five hours)

I have heard they can be aggressive and can hurt you. My wife grew up with
pet geese and says they were nasty critters.

The other reason not to let your dog go near them is that -- I believe --
they're protected by federal law, and letting your dog check them out might
be perceived as some sort of violation.

to.
