Hi Danielle, it absolutely makes sense.  As blind people we use 
our ears to tell us lots of things.  If this is impaired we are 
less able to make good decisions about our environment.  I'm so 
glad that having a dog has made you feel safer and more relaxed.  
This is also true for me when I get ear infections or it's very 
windy.  In the wind I cannot hear well, and it is frightening.  
And I do believe that my hearing may be getting a little 
impaired.  So I truly know what you mean.  I can give my dog a 
command and let her guide me in those situations.    Blessings,
