[nagdu] Food Throwers

Given that people are, um, jerks, teaching food refusal is a good thing.
Did you yell at the idiot? I yelled at one of my co-workers so forcefully
for feeding my greedy lab crackers that he's never forgotten it. He never
fed her again, either.

My last dog was a big tomato thief. They never did her any harm. I
wouldn't worry about that.
If you have some Pepto or amodieum, you could give him a little bit, as a
preventative measure. Though maybe out is better than in, if he's allergic.

Well, as I see it, the thing is definitely a menace to the dog, it is
stupid, and it is hard tto pin it down. You almost have to find out who is
doing it and talk to them. You could write an article concerning it for your
school paper, or if you are with friends, you can get them to help you spot.
Other things to do is to practice offering the dog things he can't have,
being prepared to get it back if he takes it, and praising him as he more
and more does not accept the morsel. Of course, dogs are dogs, and as such
it might not be possible to totally extinguish the behavior.

Subject: [nagdu] Some people are assholes

Some people are assholes. today; I was sitting on a bench making a phone
call. And there was another student on an adjacent bench eating a sub. My
dog was just lying by my feet not even looking at the other student, and
when the student was finished with his sub, without even asking, he threw
his leftover sub at my dog. Naturally, my dog seeing food flying at his
face, opened those big jaws of his, and swallowed it. My problem is that the
student was so inconsiderate to do that in the first place, and secondly
that grain makes my dog have the runs. Additionally, it was a meatball sub,
and tomatoes are bad for dogs.

What I am doing besides venting is asking what if anything I can do to
lessen the inevitable stomach upset, and should I be concerned by the amount
of tomatoes contained in ½ of a sub. Also, is it possible to teach a dog not
to accept food in that circumstance?
