I am so sorry to hear this news. It's a very hard decision about when is the best time to retire your first dog, I don't know if it ever gets easier... If you need someone to talk to, feel free  to give me a call.

Oh man. Sorry to hear that. I am here at pilot and I just received my yellow lab yesterday. A big tall happy fella named Scout. Things are going well so far. And man does he like to work. I will keep you all posted.
