[nagdu] Reintroducing myself

Hi Anjelina, I just came home from Seeing Eye two months ago with
Nova. Every time I have the privilege of getting another dog,
it's always a little bittersweet. I remember the previous dog,
and since I have been going to The Seeing Eye since 1981, a lot
of memories are triggered, many joyful and happy, some not so
much. Being there is like going to a family reunion of sorts,
for me anyway. I get to see instructors I've known from other
classes, and other staff I've known for a long time.

Going home is also a mixed blessing. When I lived alone
especially, it was more difficult. For days, I missed all the
people and activity at the school. Now that I'm married and come
home to my husband, and other people in our lives, it's a little
bit like diving from one swimming pool to another. Lol. And
each dog is different. Some dogs adjust quickly and fairly well
to a new environment. Others take a little longer. Some dogs,
right away start doing things they never did at school-chewing on
paper, picking up stuff off the floor and ground outside, and
generally creating havoc. (Smile). Other dogs just seem to
settle into the routine of the household and work leafe like
they've been there forever.

If there's anything I can do to help, or if you have other
questions, please feel free to write me privately, semisweetdebby
