[nagdu] process of getting in to the seeing eye

Hi,
I just wanted to let everyone know that I have started the process of getting in to the Seeing Eye.
To get my new guide dog.
I’m going to wait untill next Spring, summer and or fall.
On my application, I picked female as my preference.
I like being spacific about my guide dog.
my first question:  will gender effect how long of a wait I have before I can get admitted in to the school?
I also have a breed preference. I like Golden Retrievers because I have been around them while living at home and I am use to how there temperments.
Will breed also effect of how long I will have to wait to get my guide dog?
I do apologize for making so many posts and asking so many questions.
On the Seeing eye freequently asked questions page, it says 4 months.
I’m just wondering if it takes longer or not.
