I grew up with dogs-our family always had at least one, if not
two. They never seemed to bother the Christmas tree, except for
their wagging tails, and we kept food out of their reach. Having
said that, after I got married my husband's pet (and mine by
marriage and love), ate the chocolate sauce from a present. It
was one of those cheesecake mix things with chocolate sauce to
put on the top. He left everything alone except for the
chocolate sauce. Lol.
Last year we put up an artificial tree. UGH! None of the animals
bothered it, much. I didn't bother it much either since I really
have an aversion to artificial trees. This year we are
remodeling our kitchen and barely have room to get through the
living room because of having stuff from the kitchen in the
living room, and having the kitchen basically gutted. I worry
more about the dogs going in there and getting into something
than anything else. They went in there at first, mostly out of
curiosity. Now they stay out, except for going through the
kitchen to get out the door to park. So no Christmas tree this
year, no baking Christmas cookies or other goodies. I'm trying
not to feel bah humbug, because I generally love Christmas. So
it's hard to feel in the Christmas spirit, because none of the
normal smells and few of the sounds of Christmas are available.
Sigh.
Next year we are getting a real Christmas tree, and I do wonder
how the cat will respond to that. He may be permanently in the
dog house. Lol.
I have gotten blood drawn, vaccines, teeth pulled, and complete
physicals with my dog present. I'm guessing, if truth be told,
the woman doing the blood draw doesn't like dogs. Or she is
afraid of them. I hope your complaint brings about some results.
Well, it's time for bed, time to treat the dogs, and the cat, and
go to sleep. Debby and Nova
