Do you have an iphone or some other smart phone, or any GPS? You 
could do some virtual exploring and then go out and just go for 
walks.  You can also do some "structured" discovery".  Go and 
just stand at street corners and listen to the intersection.  
Does it appear to have a light, or a stop sign? Is there a 
turning lane? If you have friends or family close by, they might 
be able to walk with you and tell you some things about your 
neighborhood, too.  If you attend a church you might ask some of 
the people there also.  Just some suggestions.    Blessings,
