[nagdu] Clicker and 2 dogs

Sometimes I put one of the dogs in their crate while I'm working with the
other. Usually though I have one dog in a down stay while I work with the
other one actively. I click only for the dog I'm actively working with, but
I treat both dogs, the one for the click he earned and the other for
maintaining the down stay. It does take a few minutes to get them
accustomed to this working arrangement, but they catch on amazingly quickly.

Monty even watches what Jetta is getting clicked for and when it's his turn
he will pick up right where she left off. Jetta hasn't quite gotten to that
level yet, but it's also been a while since I've worked both dogs like that
in the house. I've mostly been working on dog distractions with Jetta
outdoors without Monty. Maybe I'll try working on something in the house
and see if Jetta can learn by watching Monty now. If so, I could use that
in her dog distraction training. I need to ponder this some more...

Subject: [nagdu] Clicker and 2 dogs

How do other people manage clicker training at home with 2 dogs? I can
close off the kitchen or bathroom and work in there, but now I'm ready to
move around and work in different locations. Ben hears the clicker, and
Krokus gobbling treates, and naturally he wants part of the action. So far,
he's kept out of Krokus's way, but he distracts me.
