[nagdu] ESA dogs allowed on college campuses

Dear Abigail,

The Fair Housing Act requires housing providers, including college campuses,
to provide reasonable accommodations to disabled tenants who have emotional
support animals. In other words, under federal fair housing laws, the
university must allow emotional support animals in campus housing.,
including  areas commonly used by residents in that housing, e.g. kitchen
areas, recreation room, etc. However, that doesn't mean that emotional
support animals don't have to be held to a certain standard of behavior. Nor
does it mean that the college has to allow emotional support animals in the
classrooms or in other no pets areas on the campus although the college can
certainly choose to do so.

Hi all.
The university I attend is passing a policy that allows emotional support
animals to be living in on campus housing.
The only reason I am not thrilled with this change is because we as a
university have had no less than five dog fights on campus in the last year
alone. All of these fights have been between a service dog and an esa.
What do you guys think of this?
