[nagdu] Medical leave?

Meghan, HR should be able to determine whether or not it is reasonable for
medical leave or not.  Under definitions for most medical leave, it would
probably not be.  However, if your employer, whom I believe is, reasonable,
will consider this, or a combo like I had previously mentioned.  What I did
when going back for my replacement, I also worked with my training program
to get into an accelerated class.  This could be a consideration knowing
your skills and background with guides no matter what school it is.

You can make the argument that going to a school to get your guide dog is
proper training and you should be given time off to do this since training
makes you a better and more productive employee. You might also consider
exploring concerning a school doing in-home training.

Hi all, 

I seen to recall a discussion quite awhile back about going for training to
get a guide being somehow covered under medical leave or something like
that. I am at a crossroads right now and am not sure if I am going to end up
owner training or going through a program, and if I do go to a program, I
will need to take time off of work. 

Is there a way other than paid time off to get paid? I am going to look into
working remotely as much as possible, but I would like to know if training
with a guide dog is covered under some other form of leave. Thanks all.
