Robert, I think you are wrong and I will tell you why.  1.  We 
have not done enough education of other members of our states 
about this issue.  2.  I believe the vote might have been 
different had the whereas clauses been read.  At least people 
would have had more understanding of the issues.  3.  I believe 
that standing for non-ownership is totally opposed to NFB 
philosophy.  It is not consistent with society, agencies, and 
definitely dog guide schools to have such low expectations of 
blind people that they would still desire to maintain ownership 
of dogs.  4.  I believe that we need to keep talking about this 
within our own membership.  I disagree with you.  30 to 21 or 20 
is not that far apart.  My state President voted the way she did 
because of feedback from people she poled within my state.  I 
know that I and others will be working toward talking about this
