[nagdu] Something Different, Where to get a Dalmatian Dog?

I wouldn't buy *any* dog from a pet shop. Most dogs at most pet shops come from puppy mills. As such, I mean besides puppy mills just being terrible anyway, you'll get dogs that weren't properly reared, will be harder to house train, and have all manner of problems.

Besides that, it's probably not a great idea to die anyone a dog (or any pet) as a gift. Better to tell them your intentions and involve them in the selection process. After all, they'll be living with the dog, and this is a lifetime commitment.

Finally, why does your son want a dalmatian? Does he understand what kind of dog this is? Its temperament, need for exercise, and the like? I understand they're pretty high energy dogs.
