Could Jenny have an eye injury of some sort? Perhaps she's not seeing
things as clearly on her left side, so she's startled by or suspicious of
them?

Subject: [nagdu] Jenny's barking pattern discovered!

Hello!
After a bit of a rough weekend, I think I have figured out the pattern of
Jenny's barking. IF she is going to bark, it will be at someone approaching
us from her left side. This happened twice today, which is increasing the
frequency of her barking at someone. On the plus side, I seem to be able to
quiet her much more quickly and react less strongly.

While waiting for a store to open this morning, I had her sit and wait, and
she kept constantly looking over to her left. She barked at no one indoors,
but kept looking left, even as she was guiding.

This seems to be a new behavior, though historically, she has been reactive
to stimulus or people on her left on previous occasions.

I am thinking I might book a vet appointment to see if there's a medical
reason... with all the ice, snow, and grime flying around with our melt, I
want to rule out a medical cause.

Any pointers on what to do in the meantime while I work on this and await
answers?

Daryl
