[nagdu] Fwd: 5 Reasons Why Guide Dogs Are a Terrible Idea!

Yes, but you see, I would like it if people talked to me about anything
other than the weather. They talk about my dog and that's all they have to
say to me.
I have known people who got dogs because someone thought they would be more
independent. They did not like dogs. One person feared dogs. This isn't
good, though she did get past it, I think, but wasn't ever really tuned into
having a dog I think. My husband likes dogs; he says he wouldn't have the
patience to deal with a guide. So of course everyone has their own
circumstances and considerations to take. Some people think that people
talking to them about their dogs is an icebreaker; I see it as a pain. For
whatever reason I have come to be less tolerant of it than I was. However,
now as the time simultaneously creeps and speeds closer to that kind of a
decision, I am having more hand pain than I did before I got my first dog.
That was why I got one in the first place, so there is sure a lot to think
about. In my opinion, I am wasting a resource to get a dog no more than I am
currently going places; without one I might go out less now, not sure, but
this would be because I wouldn't have the reason, not because I could not.
Yes, lots to consider.
Cindy

i do agree a dog is not for everyone and i think u have to really like dogs
to get a guide dog. i hated using the caine so for me getting a dog was 1 of
the best decisions i have made. i have a lot more confidence now and i walk
a lot faster than i did with a caine. a lot more people come up and talk to
me now since having the dog. i have 2 kids and since getting callie they can
come to the shops with me something i never did with the caine. so i do
think it depends on your circumstances and whether or not u r willing to put
the work in to taking care of a dog.
