Hi, Danielle, Mardi here. I had a problem with my Belgian Shepherd,Shaman
after he was attacked several times. You might try using the halti and when
you feel him start to tense up or turn his head, pull his head toward you, (
do not yank his head)
.
and say "Leave It". When he does not growl or lunge, click and treat, and
praise him. You can also try putting some pebbles in an empty soda can with
tape over the top so they can't fall out. When you feel him tense, shake the
can and the noise will distract him, Then say "Leave It" and click and
treat and praise him when he does well. You will have to be consistent and
try and catch him before he reacts to the other dog if you can. This will
take time and patience, but it should work. Hope this is helpful. Mardi
and Shaman,retired and Neechee.
