Yes Jennifer it is the wheel chair lift that I now use . I won't let my
dog jump on the steps of the buses as I found out every bus has a
different height for the steps. Two months after her surgery she lost
her balance trying to go on the steps and we both almost fell off the
bus . A wonderful driver grabbed both of us to keep us from falling.
I advocated with the county and bus company for the mats. I also carry
one too just in case. I live on Long Island. Its sad because the bus
company is good but there hands are tied since it ran by the county. We
had another guide dog get hurt but the man wouldn't say anything . He
had no idea until the driver told him when he was getting off the bus.
We think it was from the metal for the wheel chairs. if the dogs nails
are not short they can get it caught if the person is sitting on the
side of the bus where the wheel chair metal tie down are.
