[nagdu] And that's the guide dog lifestyle

Oh my, that reminds me, when in international relations cclass in college,
Evan my dog numero dos, who had given every appearance of feeling great,
just started to vomit. It was really too late to do anything and I just
offered to do my best to clean it up.
The professor, a real character believe me, had just finished making a
comment that he was going to use red chalk today instead of his usual
green, when Evan was throwing up he said, "all right, Evan, I'll use the
green chalk form now on, you don't have to get sick about it".
So, at least it wasn't a big deal and everyone handled it with maturity and
humor, , but of course it's still something you don't want to happen too
often in your guide dog career.

Yours sincerely,

Dan and the Parker Nut

Oh Rox!
I still remember when my first dog got sick on the first day of an
accounting class. I heard the dreaded noise and jumped up, interrupting
everything and demanding someone pass me a trashcan, quick. The teacher
did, and I caught the puke, but the teacher ribbed me about it regularly
after that. Good thing he was a good sport.

So you know those guide dog advertisements for the programs which always
seem to sport a person doing something like hiking, or weaving through a
place like Grand Central station like it's nothing.
They always seem to talk about "the guide dog lifestyle."
Well today I was in the mirror image of that ad only it's the guide dog
lifestyle the real story version.
In city hall, in the midst of a presentation about pedestrian safety which I
was giving, my dog yacks up her dinner.
My interpreter kept saying your dog your dog you dog, and I thought she was
too close to the interpreter for her comfort. But no, it was that my dog
had hurked up right in front of my feet.
Perhaps it was a comment on my presentation? Soleil seems to be fine,
sometimes puke just happens, I just wish it would not happen when I have an
audience, literally!
