[nagdu] Dog bored at my office?

Rox,
Jenny has always been ready to leave, but with this job it just seems so much more than that. It's like she's just not interested in being there at all. She likes some of the people I work with, and I'm thinking that the vestiges of her barking issue has something to do with it. IF she's going to be barking at someone (this does not happen regularly anymore), it's an enthusiastic "Hello!" bark, with tail wags and wiggles... and this ONLY happens at the end of the day now, at someone who's putting their coat on and/or getting ready to leave for the day.
This prompted me to think of boredom as a possible cause.

I like the ideas you and Danielle mentioned. I've also started lisening to her more by playing with her more in the evenings... even got a morning play session in today :)

Daryl

Can you take walks around the building, or perhaps do a 2 minute freeshaping session with the clicker a couple times a day— something where you can teach a stupid trick and she can use her brain a bit?
I teach everything from tech to an O&M/ community integration class which involves walking at least a 1/2 mile and my dog is always ready to leave at the end of the day. I think they just know when it's time to scoot! *smile*

I just wanted you to know that this is not something you are dealing loneddwith I'm with you in this, and I am also listening for tidbits and tips to help me occupy my girl at work. I can't put her by a window because she is too vocal. lol. Anyway, I will help in any way that I can. Is there a time or do you have a few minute break in any of your day where you can play with her, however you play with her that doesn't cause too much noise? Just a thought. That's what I do with . We play tug, but not too vigorously. I never let her win, always telling her to drop it, so that she knows whose toy it really is. lol Hope that you can glean some tips from here. Talk soon.

She'll move away from her bed, sometimes enthusiastically greet anyone who remotely pays attention to her, to the point where she will literally prance and try and run out the door when she knows we're gboing home.

I've been able to walk somewhere most days at lunch, and even if not, we could go around the block for some fresh air. At this job, there is no sunshine, no windows, and the only place we can really walk is the bus stop - there's no sidewalks, no restaurants to go to for lunch.
