[NAGDU] NAGDU Digest, Vol 132, Issue 31

Hi Abby and all, Mardi here. I have had the same things happen to me and my
dogs. I teach my dogs to find the button, but I press it my self,as I need
to back up a bit so the door does not hit me or my dog. Well meaning people
who have pushed the button before I got the chance, did not give me time to
back up and the door hits my wheelchair if I am lucky. It has hit me in the
face on one occasion.Once, my dog got hit in the face. Both my dogs now
back up before I do so they don't get hit. When the people do this, they
usually say "Oh, I'm sorry" but the damage is already done by the time they
are apologizing. On the day the door hit me in the face, I just sat there
until the apologizing person went in ahead of me and then my dog and I went
through the door after I, pushed the button. On the day that Neechee got hit
in the face, I made a big deal about how my poor dog was hurt and she
needed to sit for a while so she could recover, while I rubbed her face and
said,"Oh my poor baby". I know that person felt bad about the door hitting
my dog, but I was angry. Neechee is such a soft dog that it's her feelings
that are hurt more than her physical pain. I guess, maybe, I hope, that
people will get some common sense some day. Mardi and Shaman,semi-retired
and Neechee,GD and Sedona,GDIT.
