I agree that many blind people are very upset about things like pre-boarding, handicapped %plates and plackards, paratransit, and or cheapper fares. Then they are rude about it. The same goes for people that feel that they are owed special treatment because they are blind.
I was told that as a blind person we shape peoples of blindness. I have had lots of people tell me what some blind person treated them. I had a cab driver that told me he said to a blind persoñ that there was a paratransit systim in town. The person said, "I don't do that." Like it was something very bad.
I am like othersen I do use lots of things like pre-boarding. The bottom line is you can pick your battles, and you can be considerate. We have the right to make a choice and not let others make us feel badly about it. I will make arrangements other than waiting for a bus in extrime cold or heat. I will not let others make me feel like I am not a "good blind person", because I am exercising my freedom of choice.
