Hi Tracy, Mardi here. I got a real bargain when Shaman had is surgery. I am
part of a rescue group, so I get a discount. I don't pay a walk in fee (vet
visit fee) and for the removal of Shaman's cyst and a teeth cleaning and 1
tooth pulled and pain meds, It cost me $75.00. Recently, at the Reptile
Vet, I payed $300.00 plus the $50.00 walk in fee, for blood work on a 17
inch long Bearded Dragon Lizard. Turns out that he has reptile Hepatitis.
On the next visit, he needed fluids and an antibiotic shot. The next visit
was the walk in fee and Fluids.Total came to $619.00. I am lucky though as
they are letting me pay off the rest at $100 per month.I have $200.00 to
go, and I will be paid off. When we take on these animals, we are
responsible for what ever they need. Some times it doesn't cost a lot,but
on the other hand, some times it does cost a lot. But because I got that
discount on Shaman case, I at least had money towards my Dragon's vet cost.
You would think that the cost would be higher for the large animal and the
cost for the smaller animal would be less, but I guess that's not the way
it works????? Mardi
