Hi Lisa,The short answer to your question is, Yes, but it depends. While I was at Leader Dogs For The Blind in 2000 training with LD Sequoia there were twelve students from Spain. In 2003 while I was training with LD Patriot there were two students from Israel. Fellow graduates have regaled me with stories of Canadians being part of their class. The longer answer is for you, or your friend to contact the school, or schools of your choosing and ask. The worst they can do is say "no"
Yours, Very Sincerely And Respectfully,

Wayne M. Scace

Subject: [NAGDU] Guide dog from the US

Hi everyone,

Is it possible for a person who does not live in America to get a guide dog
from a US guide dog school?
I've heard things like that several times in passing, e.g. someone was
recommended to apply for a dog in the US because the waiting list in his own
country was long. But I don't know if these are just rumors or if these
cases exist.
Does anyone on here know something about this?

And just to clarify this in advance: I'm still with my German guide dog and
do not intend on trading him for another one very soon. ;-)

Thanks.
Lisa
