I use the Pawz boots, and they stay on well.  Putting them on can be hard, because they're thin and tight, and it takes some finger strength to stretch the boot top out enough to get it on.  I think omeone with arthritis in their hands might find it quite difficult.

They come in packs of 12, so even if you have to buy two sizes, you'll end up with tons of spares... I have found no problem with the front and back legs with the pawz boots... not sure about anyone else.

I think I might have to get something different for Eva's paws. Last winter I used Tara's old set of boots but, they are getting worn out. One thing I do to keep the nails from ripping the boots is to keep her nails quite short. Have any of you noticed that the boots are often too big for the back paws even when they fit the front paws quite well? This has been a problem for my last three golden girls. I wish you could by the boots in sets of two so you could get two different sizes if necessary. I also hate it when the boots slid around on the dog's feet. It does take time to get the dog used to working in boots. A lot of dogs just refuse to work in them. With my dogs I have used Musher's Secret or Tough Pads a cream you rub into their paws. The problem with that is their paws are still exposed to the cold and you do have to re-apply if you are out doing lots of errands. I always appreciate it when home owners and businesses use the pet safe ice melting products. However, I always make sure to clean the dog's paws with warm water when I get home to be sure they don't get irritated. 
I've had many dogs over the years and they always develop rough pads that toughen up as the dog gets older. With Eva, the pads still feel as smooth as a new born puppy's. In the summer she does not do well when the walks are hot and now in the winter, she is very unhappy walking on the cold ground.  Have any of you experienced this? Also, can someone post the websites where we can find the dog socks and boots? Happy Walking.

I have had a couple of opportunities to try the socks (called Pawks) plus Pawz, and overall I am really really REALLY happy with the combination!

For the person who thinks that the Pawks might make the pawz stay on, give it a try; I have the opposite problem, where the Pawks would come off, particularly in the back legs, just by walking. You can, if you really want to, pull off the "boots", but it takes quite a bit of willpower. Just by walking, even walking quickly, Jenny keeps them on and in the correct position. If she is really really REALLY itching to see another dog/person, I have lost one along the way, but that's usually in a contained area where she's allowed to meet and greet and I cate get it back quickly. Just something to be aware of :)

The one problem I have with the Pawz boots by themselves is that they don't provide a lot of breathability for the dog's paws. This combination seems to solve that problem. Jenny can sweat through her paws, but seems much less apt to do so with the combo, resulting in far FAR less stinky paws... I love this breathability!

I haven't tested these out in extreme cold yet, but so far I am loving these!
Might be worth a shot :)
