Hi, From what I've heard from TSE grads is that TSE's take on that issue is the since the trainers are there for aftercare, not instruction, the trainers are not required to be licensed as instructors/trainers because instruction takes place on class in New Jersey.

Yours, Very Sincerely And Respectfully,

Wayne M. Scace

No, it's not illegal to have a dog from another school outside of
California. There is the thing about instructors who work with people in
California to be licensed, but that's different.

Are you sure that your dog is illegal? I thought the main issue there was
that the instructors have to be certified to instruct in California. But the
ADA trumps it. The main problem I see with all of that is that with a
statute, California's or Michigan's, it seems a whole new set of burdens is
to be placed on the service dog handler. For instance, in Michigan, if you
go into an establish with an unpatched dog, you would seem to be more likely
to be confronted.

I think the ADA would trump the state laws/bylaws.

Technically, if you visit California and your dog comes from a non
California based school, your dog is illegal..  But the ADA would over ride
this.
