They do make travel crates.  They fold up and are able to be 
carried.  The one we have is a travel crate.  I don't take it 
with me on trips usually because Nova does okay without it.  I 
have taken a mat or a blanket and put it beside my bed.  
Something familiar to xr dog.  And I always take one of Nova's 
nylabones so that she has something that she likes to chew on.
