[NAGDU] How much does your dog cost?

Dan,
Since a lot of the schools give us the dogs for free, that’s mostly what I tell the people who ask. If the conversation goes longer, or if I feel like the person is really interested in a good way, I give the figure-whatever it happens to be at the time, that my program tells fund raisers is the annual cost or the cost to train the dog from puppy to finished guide. In my case right now, it’s around $18,000 US for a Gallant Hearts dog. Lots of places put the figure higher. I think last time I handled a TSE dog the figure was somewhere around $60,000 US.

hth,
Cait
